The House of Metaxa has unveiled new packaging for Metaxa 12 Stars.
The new presentation was inspired by the spirit’s creator, Spyros Metaxa, and is being promoted by the Rémy Cointreau-owned brand’s new ambassador, South African explorer Mike Horn.
The Mike Horn campaign is featured at Athens International Airport and the repackaged Metaxa 12 Stars is available at most international European airports, through Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail.

The new-look Metaxa 12 Stars features a redesigned bottle and premium packaging. The design includes a Salamina warrior, a symbol of courage, and an engraved signature as a tribute to Spyros Metaxa. The bottom of the bottle echoes the shape of a drinking glass and the bottle is sealed with a ‘Greek’ blue cap.
Horn, who has circumnavigated the globe single-handedly, crossed the Arctic Circle and circled the equator on an 18-month expedition, is described as the ‘perfect’ ambassador for Metaxa 12 Stars.
The House of Metaxa Managing Director Stephanie Ancel said: “When meeting Mike Horn, you know you are facing a trailblazer: from his approach to people and life, to the very personal way he plans his adventures, everything about him is authentic.

“Mike pursues authenticity; he seeks it in everything and acknowledges it everywhere, just as he found it in the genuine commitment of the House of Metaxa to creating a unique spirit.”
Metaxa 12 Stars offers notes of toasted oak wood, fruits and spices, coffee and chocolate, followed by cocoa, liquorice and fruits, with a finish of spice and orange peel.
Metaxa Master Constanitos Raptis said he creates Metaxa 12 Stars with a blend of 12 elements, including Muscat wines, grape distillates that have matured in Limousin oak casks, May rose petals and Mediterranean botanicals, to ensure the spirit’s smooth finish.
Serving suggestions include neat or with one piece of ice.
