UK. Global travel restaurateur SSP Group is set open a series of new and refreshed units under a 14-year contract at Leeds Bradford Airport.
The work will be a key component in the transformative £100 million (US$137.2 million) terminal extension and refurbishment programme currently underway at the northern-England airport, as a three-storey extension is added to the main terminal.
This extension will open up +75% more space for F&B and retail outlets.

SSP will operate a diverse portfolio of casual airport dining concepts, including US-style restaurant Monty’s Diner. The restaurant will serve up an American-inspired all-day menu featuring cooked breakfasts, waffles, pancakes, burgers and thick shakes.
The first Monty’s Diner at Liverpool John Lennon Airport was named as the number one Airport Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year – Airport ≤20M passengers in Europe at last week’s 2025 Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Awards in Barcelona (see the full list of winners here).
Meanwhile, a stylish new premium Juniper bar will become the focal point of the refurbished Leeds Bradford Airport Departure Lounge, the sixth outlet from SSP under this brand name to open at UK airports since 2021.
Planned grab-and-go options include SSP’s own-brand Upper Crust and a Starbucks.

SSP will also debut its first AMT Coffee at a UK airport and open an additional premium bar & kitchen concept.
A Burger King restaurant and SSP’s craft beer and kitchen concept, Tap + Brew, have already opened in the terminal extension’s first phase.
SSP UK & Ireland CEO Kari Daniels said, “We have a long-standing partnership with Leeds Bradford Airport, and we’re excited to be growing our footprint with these new and refreshed units as part of the airport’s major redevelopment.
“Providing choice is one of our core goals to ensure that we meet the needs of every passenger. We have opened our first two outlets and look forward to bringing a few of our most popular own-brand concepts to the airport for the first time alongside a fresh look for some enduring favourites.”
Leeds Bradford Airport Commercial and Strategy Director John Cunliffe commented, “These new restaurants, cafes and eateries will be transformational for customers at LBA and help us deliver an experience of a lifetime when travelling through our airport.
“The customer journey will be completely unrecognisable – larger, faster, more streamlined security, an enhanced arrivals experience, exciting new shops and eateries, much more seating to relax and enjoy stunning panoramic views of our runway, and better access for passengers with restricted mobility.”
