SSP unveils three temporary brands at Launceston Airport ahead of new outlets opening in 2025

AUSTRALIA. SSP Group has commenced operations at Launceston Airport with three temporary concessions ahead of unveiling a trio of food & beverage venues at the Tasmanian gateway early next year.

The travel restaurateur has taken over F&B spaces from a previous operator and renamed them Ben’s Bar and Kitchen, Stack’s Spot (a café venue) and Arthur’s Café.

As reported, SSP was awarded a contract in August to build and operate three new F&B spaces by airport operator Australia Pacific Airports (Launceston).

The under-construction brands include the Pasture Café, which showcases Tasmania produce; bar/diner The Reservoir; and a healthy-eating venue, a partnership with Tasmanian brand Liv Eat.

A new bar/diner concept from SSP, The Reservoir will bolster Launceston Airport’s food & beverage offer from early 2025

The Pasture Café and The Reservoir are brands created in collaboration with New Zealand-based Lauren Glading of Cre/ate Design Studio. Glading is a former Head of Creative Marketing with SSP in London.

SSP told The Moodie Davitt Report: “We have taken over the three existing sites from the previous operator and are using temporary names until our new sites are built. Those sites are due to complete early next year.”

Launceston becomes the 13th airport in the SSP Australia and New Zealand portfolio. ‍
