US. Starboard Cruise Services and Carnival Cruise Line have struck an agreement to continue their long-standing partnership for five more years.
The contract extension for Starboard Cruise Services, owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton company, includes Starboard’s current portfolio of nine Carnival ships. It also introduces Starboard as the chosen retail partner for Carnival’s highly anticipated newest flagship Carnival Celebration.
Starboard said the continuation of the partnership recognises its significant contributions to Carnival’s expanding shopping options, showcasing recognised LVMH brands, exclusive first-at-sea collections, innovative retail concepts and rich market insights.
“Our extensive and successful partnership with Carnival Cruise Line uniquely positions us to build upon our track record of keeping families at the centre of our retail offerings and bringing to life fun retail vacation experiences,” said Starboard President and CEO Lisa Bauer.
“Our dedicated account team of industry experts is excited to continue taking Carnival’s memorable vacation retail concepts to the next level with new offerings and a revamped commercial model.”
Since partnering in 1992, Starboard has been inviting Carnival’s guests to ‘Shop Fun,’ — a marketing strategy originated by the retailer. Starboard said it continues to deliver innovative, custom-designed merchandise to sea, bringing the most in-demand, consumer-relevant offerings across all price points.
The retail offers an eclectic onboard range from socially responsible accessories by Pura Vida to vintage luxury from world-famous brands curated by What Comes Around Goes Around. It also features an expansive line of Carnival-branded products.
The retailer’s nine current ships within the fleet are Carnival Dream, Freedom, Horizon, Legend, Magic, Miracle, Pride, Sunrise and Sunshine – with Celebration launching later this year.
“Starboard is a trusted retail partner who knows exactly what our guests want and expect – more Carnival branded assortments and products that remind them of where they’ve travelled to with us,” says Carnival Cruise Line Vice President of Retail Operations Jeremy Schiller. “As retailers, we saw more opportunity to really kick it up a notch on Carnival Celebration, so we’re excited to see how our guests love our new offerings as much as our classics.”
Aboard Carnival Celebration, guests can expect to shop first-at-sea brand launches, destination-inspired merchandise and the largest logo assortment offered on a Carnival ship to date, Starboard pledged.
