Luxottica Group, which owns Sunglass Hut, said the new stores offer “outstanding” customer service and a range of sunglasses from over 20 brands including Ray-Ban, Oakley, Burberry, Bvlgari, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Tiffany & Co. and Versace.
It also described the Delhi openings as another step in the expansion of Sunglass Hut in travel retail, building on the strong performance of the brand at airports.
“Delhi has been at the centre of India’s recent boom in air travel and is a pioneer in a new age of travel retail in the country,” said Luxottica Group Travel Retail & Boutiques Director Francis Gros.
“This makes it a key strategic location for the expansion of Sunglass Hut, as the world’s biggest specialist sun retail brand.” Sunglass Hut will be exhibiting at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next month, alongside Luxottica Group (Stand RG8 – Riviera Village).
Delhi International Airport Limited Chief Commercial Officer Romy Juneja said: “Having launched many innovative “˜firsts’ through the year, we are proud to welcome the addition of Sunglass Hut stores to our retail experience. Passengers now have the option of a world-leading name in premium and luxury sunglasses retail.
“Delhi Airport has been progressively introducing brands that create a niche passenger journey and experience, that complement our existing portfolio.”
DLF Brands Managing Director Timmy Sarna added: “This is a proud moment in our partnership with Luxottica Group during the expansion of the Sunglass Hut brand in India.
“Travel retail acts as a first class platform to showcase this world famous concept to the cream of Indian and international travellers. The performance of these stores to date is very encouraging for the potential of Sunglass Hut in other Indian airports.”
