ICELAND. Lagardère Travel Retail recently opened its ninth restaurant at Keflavik Airport.
Ísey Skyr Bar, located in the south terminal, aims to offer travellers an authentic Icelandic experience with healthy food and drinks. The new outlet is part of Lagardère Travel Retail’s strategy to deliver Sense of Place and special experiences to travellers. The brand’s local roots and identity are emphasised through the tagline ‘Super Icelandic!’
At the heart of the concept is Ísey Skyr, an iconic Icelandic dairy product. The all-natural product is high in protein, low in fat with no added sugar, and has a rich flavour and thick, creamy texture.

The menu has been developed by Icelandic Michelin-starred chef Agnar Sverrisson, owner of the Texture restaurant in London. All menu items focus around Ísey Skyr.
Highlights on the menu include Boozt drinks (Ísey Skyr base with fresh fruit and/or vegetables), Bowls (an Ísey Skyr base topped with granola and fresh fruit), and Frozen Skyr. The offer is adapted to traveller needs with take-away packaging and quick service.
The outlet is the first Skyr bar in the world, claimed Lagardère. It features local design showcasing the Icelandic heritage. Wall-to-wall landscapes of Iceland, Icelandic music, coolers in wooden authentic materials and fresh fruit displayed in wooden boxes feature.
Lagardère Travel Retail Iceland has operated food & beverage outlets at Keflavik Airport since 2015.
The retailer operates eight other F&B outlets: two Mathus restaurants which pay tribute to the Icelandic roadside diners and the country’s natural wonders; the seafood-inspired Nord restaurant; two downtown Reykjavik-style Loksins bars; Kvikk, a café with local food; Pure Food Hall, a premium fine food outlet offering a selection of Icelandic food and drinks; and a Segafredo café in the North terminal.
