SWEDEN. Swedish Match has revealed its first travel retail concept at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in partnership with Avolta.
Located at the Avolta Duty Free store entrance, the immersive space offers differentiation, discovery and education to legal-age consumers (LAC).
The concept is inspired by Swedish Match’s domestic stores and showcases the brand’s full offer as well as its long history in the snus category. It also features an espresso bar.

In line with Avolta’s strong focus on Sense of Place, the Arlanda Airport store features design elements that reflect Scandinavian aesthetics.
For a more interactive experience, the store will host special events including Mix Your Own Snus on special occasions, a Mix of the Week and the opportunity for guests to engrave their snus tin with their own name.
Swedish Match expert ambassadors will be joining these events to assist guests of legal age.
To introduce a cross-category experience, the brand ambassadors will also be available to answer enquiries on other Philip Morris International tobacco products.
Swedish Match Sales Manager International Markets & Travel Retail Johannes Varhelyi said: “Our ambassadors have knowledge of all the Swedish Match and Philip Morris International products that LAC shoppers are interested in.
“It is very exciting to see this store open as it is a fresh and exciting vision for Swedish Match in travel retail. It also offers something truly new for our LAC shoppers. Often consumers in this environment do not expect to find small batch products, news or curiosities in tobacco stores, but we believe these will be a positive addition to the travel experience.” ✈
