FRANCE. Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has appointed Franck Waechter as Managing Director with effect from 2 November. He replaces John Rimmer, who as reported stepped down at the end of October to seek new challenges.
Waechter has extensive experience working with leading global brands in the duty free and travel retail sector, including L’Oréal, Givenchy, Guerlain, Champagne Laurent-Perrier and Valmont. He has worked in multiple locations worldwide including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Mainland China and Taiwan.
Those years included leadership roles with
TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen remarked: “With an impressive track record in strategic development, financial analysis and leadership gained in a wide variety of roles across a broad spectrum of organisations, Franck brings with him solid commercial skills which will stand the Association in good stead as we focus on providing a vital business platform for the industry as it returns to growth.
