SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group (CAG) Managing Director Airside Concessions Teo Chew Hoon is to retire from the company after almost eight years of dedicated service, effective 31 October.
In an internal statement CAG said Teo has led the Airside Concessions Division ably, continuing to uphold Changi Airport’s strong reputation in the travel retail industry.
CAG Senior Vice President, Airside Leasing & T5 Commercial Planning Chandra Mahtani will be appointed Acting Head of Airside Concessions Division, overseeing Concession Operations, Airside Planning and Leasing, and Advertising, Marketing and Promotions.
Executive Vice President, Commercial Lim Peck Hoon will oversee the iShopChangi and Changi Pay portfolios.
Teo’s CAG career highlights include bringing in numerous first-in-Changi experiences; creating a seamless duty free shopping experience at Terminal 4; establishing new retail concepts and innovations; and helping Changi Airport achieve record breaking concession sales pre-COVID.

Under her leadership, CAG saw the evolution of its omnichannel business. While building upon the airport’s strong retail fundamentals anchored on its brick-and-mortar business, Teo led Changi’s ecommerce business to new heights, CAG said. This included piloting the journey into the digital realm with the Changi Pay e-wallet.
“Her stewardship was invaluable to Changi Airport successfully navigating through the challenging COVID-19 period together with its tenant partners,” CAG added.
“Chew Hoon has been instrumental in the growth of Changi’s subsidiary business and her passion for community service was evident in her deep involvement in Changi Foundation’s initiatives,” the company added.

Chew Hoon has also contributed actively to the travel retail industry with her involvement as Board Member of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA).
“CAG would like to thank Chew Hoon for her dedication, contribution, and service, and wish her a very happy retirement and good health,” the airport company concluded. ✈
