TFWA Asia Pacific conference speakers and programme details announced

ASIA PACIFIC. Details of the conference and workshops taking place at TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2016 have been announced. The event will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre from 8-12 May.

Titled “˜Navigating through change’, TFWA said the conference would feature a different format this year. In its new venue on Level 5 of the Marina Bay Sands, the conference will comprise two plenary sessions on the Monday morning (9 May).

Singapore’s former UN ambassador Kishore Mahbubani, futurist and author Mike Walsh, TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen and APTRA President Jaya Singh will speak in the first session. DFS Group CEO Philippe Schaus will be among the senior industry executives to address delegates.

A dedicated conference app will also be launched shortly, TFWA said.

The workshops will also have a new look, with three separate sessions running simultaneously in the afternoon. Workshop A will explore the off-airport duty free sector in Asia Pacific. Workshop B is titled “˜Tracking the Millennial traveller’ and will feature input from two Singapore-based bloggers as well as experts from both inside and outside the duty free industry.

Workshop C will aim to examine some of the major issues affecting the duty free sector in a session called “˜Safeguarding our industry’s future’. TFWA said it would include research findings and the latest news on dealings with the main regulatory authorities.

Just over 300 companies have already booked space to exhibit at TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2016. Some 73 are attending for the first time or returning after a break, with Steiff, LVMH, Nemiroff, Chow Tai Fook and Al Zawrae among the debutants.
