FRANCE. Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has revealed initial details of two market insight workshops to be held in the new Innovation Square at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (28 September-2 October).
Focused on the latest industry research, the sessions will offer fresh perspectives on key global developments affecting travel retail.
Themed World in Flux: Travel Retail Amid Today’s Geopolitical Realities, the first programme will highlight how the industry is adapting to rising geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, along with the resulting shifts in traveller behaviour and consumer sentiment.
Set to take place on 30 September, the session will present findings from a dedicated report by global consultancy Kearney, addressing global risks, market transformation and resilience-building strategies. The session will run from 8am-9am, with welcome coffee available from 8am.
Scheduled for the following day, the second workshop, Next Horizon: Charting the Future of Travel Retail, will focus on the industry’s long-term role in a rapidly changing global environment.
Panellists will discuss upcoming trends in airport retail, supported by a foresight report from Le Comptoir Prospectiviste. The authors will share findings and offer guidance on how the industry can remain competitive and continue delivering value as travel retail evolves.
As reported, the Innovation Square concept, set to make its debut at the Cannes event, is designed as a dynamic space for networking, learning and exchanging insights.
Located at the foot of the Palais des Festivals steps, the venue offers an exclusive setting that brings together brands, retailers, airports and creative agencies in a prominent setting at the world’s largest travel retail trade show.
It is a fully equipped space for plug-and-play, multi-format programming, and is set to become a hub for innovation-focused dialogue throughout the week.
TFWA President Philippe Margueritte said, “Learning is and will always be a central focus for us at TFWA. The intent behind hosting these early-morning workshops is to provoke debate and share best practice, making every moment spent amongst industry colleagues in Cannes as valuable as possible.” ✈
