The Chase is on: Chase Distillery launches OOH advertising campaign and summer party activation at Heathrow

Chase Distillery has launched a travel retail out-of-home (OOH) advertising campaign at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 in partnership with JCDecaux.

The ‘All in the Chase’ campaign aims to build brand awareness through Chase’s field to bottle messaging.

‘All in the Chase’: The OOH campaign targets key demographics at Heathrow Airport.

Chase Distillery, which was founded by potato farmer William Chase in 2008, said the campaign also marked the launch of Chase Rhubarb & Bramley Apple Gin, as well as additional promotion around core brands Chase GB Gin and Chase Pink Grapefruit and Pomelo Gin.

The campaign is being further supported by an instore ‘summer garden party’ activation within the World Duty Free store space at Heathrow, in partnership with Fortnum & Mason.

Driving sales: A Chase Land Rover sampling unit forms the centrepiece of the activation.

“Last year we celebrated our tenth anniversary. In a very competitive market there are now a huge number of craft gins telling some interesting stories. We want premium gin consumers to understand our Chase ‘field to bottle story’ so launching our first advertising campaign felt like the next natural step in our journey as a family business,” said Global Brand Ambassador James Chase.

The ‘All in the Chase’ campaign also features a 70-second brand film (below), which uses a collage of stop-animated illustrations and photography to showcase the craftsmanship of Chase’s hand-made products. The film depicts stages of the production process showing potatoes growing and being harvested, fermented into a base spirit, distilled into Chase vodka, and then how the vodka is then distilled with botanicals to make Chase’s range of signature gins.

The brand film was directed and animated by Anthony Farquhar-Smith, who has previously worked on Wes Anderson films including Fantastic Mr. Fox and Isle of Dogs. It was written & art directed by Miles Bingham from Forever-Beta.

Chase Distillery Managing Director Andrew Carter commented: “Our Chase portfolio of brands has built lots of exciting momentum in travel retail, as a strategically important channel for engaging with consumers with our ‘field to bottle’ activations. We are delighted to launch our ‘All in the Chase’ campaign at Heathrow Airport with partners JCDecaux Airport and World Duty Free.”

JCDecaux Airport Marketing Director Steve Cox said: “We’re delighted to offer an airport advertising platform to launch a brand as fresh and exciting as Chase, particularly when the creative execution is so appealing and the client has seized the opportunity to tailor and time specific copy to communicate with a key demographic group – passengers en route to China.”
