“The essence of adventure”: Opihr Gin launches travel retail-exclusive expression

Inspiring story: The Opihr Adventurers’ Edition London Dry Gin

Opihr Gin is aiming to capture the “essence of adventure, discovery and travel” with a new travel retail-exclusive launch.

The Opihr Adventurers’ Edition London Dry Gin will be available from early 2018 in 70cl and 1L formats. Its packaging features maritime cues such as a wax-dipped closure and an illustrated map on the back label, evoking the history and heritage of the maritime spice route, Opihr Gin said.

The new expression, unveiled at the TFWA World Exhibition, was created by G& J Distillers’ Master Distiller Joanne Moore and aims to deliver a more robust taste. It is 42.5% ABV in strength, in reference to the midway latitude of the locations from which the botanicals for Opihr Gin are sourced.

In keeping with the essence of Opihr, Moore has combined botanicals that have been sourced from locations along the maritime spice route. The more intense flavours of ginger and woody spice have been brought to the fore “to reflect the more adventurous nature of those who travel the world seeking out new challenges”.
