The Estée Lauder Companies promotes Daniel Mahler to Executive Vice President, Global Transformation and Category Leadership

The Esteé Lauder Companies (ELC) has promoted Daniel Mahler to the role of Executive Vice President, Global Transformation and Category Leadership, effective 1 July. He jointly reports to President and Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Freda and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Tracey Travis.

Mahler has led several strategic enterprise-wide initiatives at The Estée Lauder Companies. He co-designed and operationalised ELC’s integrated transformation model to accelerate key change pillars and embed those capacities as new ways of doing business.

He helped establish the Asia Pacific region as a long-term second home market, step-up brand creative capabilities, managed innovation and category portfolios, delivered best-in-class, high-touch digital experiences and accelerated the company’s corporate approach to social impact and sustainability.

In his new role, Mahler will lead the company’s transformation initiatives and ensure that it wins market share across all categories in prestige beauty

In his new role, Mahler will oversee ELC’s Category Leadership capability and maximise ELC’s portfolio of brands to become the leaders in skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care. Mahler has been working closely with ELC’s Group Presidents to spearhead a new brand-led model and provide actionable goals on winning market share as an integrated team in global prestige beauty.

Commenting on Mahler’s appointment, Freda said: “Our unique transformation capability is an industry-first approach to enabling the continuous evolution of our business into the future.

“Daniel is a dynamic leader with a unique ability to align stakeholders and translate ideas into action. Under Daniel’s leadership, Transformation is accelerating ELC’s business in priority high-growth areas and strengthening our ability to strategically pivot and win with consumers.”

Travis added, “Under the leadership of Daniel, transformation has proven to be a key enabler to help effectively navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. By tapping into our transformation capabilities, the company has been able to pivot more quickly toward growth areas such as China, online and serving the increasingly conscious consumer while also adapting our business for post-COVID realities.”
