The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has promoted Gibu Thomas to the role of Executive Vice President ELC Online.
Thomas, who joined ELC in November 2020, reports directly to The Estée Lauder Companies President and Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Freda. He continues to serve on ELC’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Executive Leadership Team Alignment (ELTA).
ELC’s Online business has become a powerful growth engine under Thomas’ leadership, reaching over US$1 billion in net sales in fiscal 2021.
This growth has continued into 2022 as Thomas continues to accelerate and transform ELC’s online business, across ecommerce, virtual experiences and omnichannel.
ELC said that Thomas has also worked closely with Global Brand Presidents and Executive Leaders to drive a united omnichannel strategy, launch successful high-touch consumer experiences and grow brand equity, customer engagement and loyalty.
A firm supporter of inclusion, diversity & equality, Thomas is a member of ELC’s Diversity Council and a sponsor/supporter of the From Every Chair, Open Doors and Women in Tech leadership programmes. He was most recently named Executive Sponsor for GenNext, ELC’s millennial employee resource group. Within ELC Online, he also created a dedicated inclusion, diversity & equality taskforce.
Before joining ELC, Thomas served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Ecommerce for PepsiCo. During his five-year tenure, he grew the company’s ecommerce business. Before this, he was Walmart Senior Vice President Mobile and Digital.
