The Famous Grouse to launch 16yo Vic Lee special edition in Asia travel retail

The Edrington Group is set to launch a special edition of The Famous Grouse in Asian travel retail.

The Famous Grouse 16yo Double Matured Blended Scotch Whisky (abv40%), a blend of eight different whiskies, is the first in a new series of collectable Special Edition blends that will be produced annually by The Famous Grouse.

Presented in bespoke packaging designed in collaboration with artist Vic Lee, it will be available in key airport locations in Asia including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok from the beginning of June as well as in a range of international domestic markets.

The Famous Grouse Master Blender Gordon Motion said the whisky has been matured twice to ensure a depth of flavour. “The blend is expertly finished in a combination of first fill Spanish sherry casks (the most expensive casks used in whisky production) and first fill American bourbon casks. As a result, its bright burnished gold hue belies a robust flavour – a beautiful blend of spicy nutmeg and cinnamon bark notes with a hint of smooth and silky vanilla,” he described.

The Famous Grouse 16yo is presented in a signed collector’s pack by Vic Lee, an award-winning illustrator and storyteller whose style focuses on the juxtapositions between tradition and modernity. He has created a design that is said to reflect the rich heritage of the brand and which is inspired by the world of the grouse and the natural elements of the whisky-making process.

The Famous Grouse 16yo Double Matured has a recommended retail price of US$99.
