Outbound journeys have more than doubled over the past decade, reaching almost 23 million in 2024, with forecasts of 38 million by 2030 (Oxford Economics).

The study details a young, affluent Indian traveller profile. It explores how this passenger spends time in the airport environment, revealing a highly engaged digital consumer using both global and local platforms to stay connected and entertained on the move.
It also delves into the detail of duty-free engagement across all three travel stages, identifying key purchase categories, motivations and recipients of purchases. The findings shed light on what drives purchase decisions and what matters most to this influential group of travellers.
