US. Leading North American speciality travel retailer The Paradies Shops has been awarded two key long-term contracts at Portland International Airport (Oregon) and Portland International Jetport (Maine).
At Portland International, the company has been granted an 11-year concession. Paradies already operates a range of news & gifts concessions, and will add two further units: Your NorthWest TravelMart and Your NorthWest MarketPlace.

Your NorthWest TravelMart will offer regional gifts and gourmet selections, partnering with brands such as Columbia Empire Farms, Boyd’s Coffee and Reo’s Ribs.
Your NorthWest MarketPlace will feature sampling of craft beverages, including beers made with Oregon-grown hops, pinot noirs made from grapes grown in the Willamette Valley, or sparking juices and sodas. The main store’s retail space features books, newspapers, and magazines; fresh-to-go food and drinks with a healthy, organic emphasis; Oregon-themed gifts and convenience items catering to travellers.

“We expect our continued partnership with The Paradies Shops to once again redefine the news and gift business model,” said Chris Madsen, Business and Properties General Manager for the Port of Portland, which owns and operates the airport.
The Paradies Shops has also been awarded a ten-year contract at Portland International Jetport (PWM).

In addition to updating two existing locations – CNBC News and Portland Lighthouse Vending – Paradies is introducing Down East MarketPlace, a concept with mini-shops featuring local brands. News and magazines are represented in the Down East section, a partnership with Down East Magazine, a Portland institution since 1954. Other specialty sections include jams, jellies, syrups and sauces from Stonewall Kitchen; eco-friendly totes and accessories from Sea Bags; apparel for the family from Cool as a Moose; and custom art from Sunshine Art Gallery and Shelby Crouse.
