The Shilla Duty Free hails opening of Chanel duplex boutique as “a landmark at Incheon International Airport”

SOUTH KOREA. The Shilla Duty Free has opened a landmark Chanel duplex boutique at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. The boutique is Shilla’s first duplex store with Chanel at an airport in Korea.

Launched on 22 August, this is the only Chanel store in Terminal 2. It builds on Shilla’s long-established credentials as a leading luxury travel retailer at the airport.

Doubling down on luxury allure: A striking facade and blend of classic and modern design are features of the elegant Chanel duplex boutique by The Shilla Duty Free at Incheon Airport Terminal 2

The double-decker store, which is located near Gate 252 on the east side of Terminal 2, is nearly three times larger than the previous Chanel boutique. It offers dedicated areas for ready-to-wear items, handbags, shoes, watches and fine jewellery. The ground floor walls are lined with floor-to-ceiling cabinets that showcase renowned Chanel bags and the latest offerings for the new season, including Chanel 25 handbags.

The Shilla Duty Free and Chanel hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and store tour for selected guests. Among those in attendance were Hotel Shilla General Manager Han In-gyu, Chanel Korea CEO Claus Oldager and Incheon International Airport Corporation Head of Operations Kim Chang-kyu.

Designed by architect Peter Marino, a long-time Chanel collaborator, the store blends the brand’s classic identity with a modern aesthetic. The products are displayed against a white backdrop with black accents, evoking Chanel’s packaging.

In keeping with the tradition of art patronage important to Chanel’s Founder Gabrielle Chanel, the boutique features a selection of contemporary artwork.

“We expect this Chanel duplex boutique to be a landmark at Incheon International Airport, in terms of size, interior design, the range of products it offers and its differentiated customer service,” said a Shilla Duty Free representative.

The Shilla Duty Free operates several flagship stores for major cosmetics and liquor brands, as well as luxury brands such as Omega and Tiffany & Co at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. The company also plans to open a Dior boutique in the first half of next year.
