Chandeliers, summer and lightness are the key themes behind Thomas Sabo’s new Spring 2006 Collection |
GERMANY. Thomas Sabo seeks a partner in Japan to boost the German jewellery brand’s huge international expansion.
The move into Japan, where the brand is not yet present, will represent “the jewel in the crown”, according to Thomas Sabo Sales Director Jordi Valls. “In every market we find a partner,” he added.
The brand’s international expansion has been phenomenal in the last few years, and is set to grow exponentially, particularly in Asia and the US, believes Valls.
“In Hong Kong we are doing very well with our two boutiques and two shop-in-shops, and we are looking forward to expand in new Asian markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, and especially Japan. The other big area of development will be the US, where we have already appointed a Sales Director and where we have already closed a deal with Starboard Cruises.
“We sell in domestic and travel retail markets in five continents, inflight [including Lufthansa, Condor and Austrian Airlines] and in airports,” he told The Moodie Report during the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes. “We opened 25 new travel retail accounts this year [2005] and another 25 will open in 2006. By 2007, the brand will be totally represented worldwide. We have seen double-digit growth each year and we are adding new locations each year.
Spring/Summer 2006 Collection
Chandeliers and summer are the themes behind the new Spring 2006 Collection. Lightness is the motto, in line with the fashion trends of the world’s leading designers.
“These jewels are reminiscent of the glamour of past eras,” explained the company. “The visual language of the new Chandelier Collection is almost geometric, creating an eye-catching and interesting contrast to playful elements. The pale-green and rosé seem fresh and friendly. The lightness of the collection is particularly stunning in the case of the delicate butterfly brooches, which form stunning accessories.”
Mother of Pearl: The Mother of Pearl Collection consists of striking pieces of jewellery, underlining sportily-elegant outfits in natural shades, and adaptable to almost any look or colour.
Turquoise: Sun, summer and sea are evoked in the new Turquoise Collection, which features ostentatious and opulent shapes. Large bangles and striking necklaces are described as must-have accessories during the summer.
Valentine’s Day: The firm has designed a heart bracelet in pure silver for Valentine’s Day 2006.
Mother’s Day: A large selection of gifts is offered for mothers on Mother’s Day 2006.
