Tiffany & Co. opens a new chapter for Rose Gold with Intense fragrance launch

The Intense campaign shows the perfume bottle emerging from a pool of molten rose gold

US jewellery company Tiffany & Co. introduced its Rose Gold Intense fragrance this autumn. Beauty powerhouse Coty launched the scent in Asia Pacific travel retail this month and in European travel retail in November.

The first perfume in the Rose Gold collection, Rose Gold Eau de Parfum, was launched in 2021. Both scents are crafted by master perfumer Jérôme Epinette of Robertet.

The Intense version has a floral chypre gourmand profile that is differentiated by the ‘Patchouli fraction’ – a rare Patchouli property exclusive to Robertet. The multi-faceted fragrance incorporates citrus notes, pink pepper, orange flower and jasmine sambac accords, blended with Turkish rose oil and orris butter. Apart from the ‘Patchouli fraction’, the perfume base features pink sugar and a marine accord.

Epinette said: “I wanted to maintain the original spirit of Rose Gold and its modern-classic duality by playing with some of its exquisite key notes, while introducing new ones to evolve the story and take it to a deeper, darker space.”

The Rose Gold Intense scent is stoppered in an iridescent rose-gold glass bottle inspired by Tiffany & Co. gold fashion jewellery designs from 1868. The bottle’s silhouette, inspired by Tiffany’s signature diamond cuts, features intricate facets at its base and shoulders, highlighting the “multifaceted composition of the fragrance”.

The fragrance’s key ingredient notes are etched on the bottle label, while the metallic gold collar is embellished with the Tiffany & Co. logo. The outer carton appears to have been “dipped in a velvety pool of rose-gold liquid”.

“There is a story about time here: Rose Gold Intense tells a tale of love that is as enduring, beautiful and radiant as a Tiffany diamond. A love that lasts and lasts,” remarked Epinette.

The Rose Gold Intense campaign pays homage to the vision and craftsmanship of the master perfumer. The hero campaign visual features the Rose Gold Intense flacon as it emerges from a pool of molten rose gold, surrounded by key ingredient visuals that reflect the same “enriched in gold” concept.

The artisanal jewellery maison has been building its olfactory legacy since the launch of Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum in 2017. The first Rose Gold fragrance was inspired by Tiffany’s diamond cuts and precious metals and features the ‘Blue Rose’ accord, a Japanese rose hybrid. Its top note is fresh blackcurrant, while the base features ambrette seed.
