US. Marc Ecko Watches, the Timex Group-owned watch brand, has unveiled new timepieces with its signature “aggressive styling” while placing more emphasis on women’s models for 2010.
MARC ECKO LADIES COLLECTION
At the BaselWorld 2010 exhibition, Marc Ecko Watches announced a number of trend-setting women’s fashion timepieces.
“While Marc Ecko Watches has mainly been marketed as a unisex brand, the time has come to put a focus on the Ecko female consumer,” the company said.
“There are watches in the Ladies Collection that take design cues from our best selling men’s styles, for those who like the oversize chic look,” commented Jen Boulet, Associate Brand Manager for Marc Ecko Watches. “Plus there are brand new feminine, fun, jewellery-inspired styles.”
Designed with a feminine touch, materials include patent, croco and metallic leather straps, stone embellishments, bright, girly colours and softer graphic detailing.
The new mid-size and mini women’s size cases aim to open new doors for the brand, said the firm. The feminine looks and aspirational details are designed to be a trendy stylish accessory.
DOWNTOWN MEETS UPTOWN
The Argyle pattern makes a statement for Summer 2010 in a fresh set of timepieces that can be worn from the boardroom to the after-party (pictured below with the Moodie Magnifier tool).
The fashion-forward Marc Ecko Prescott watch sports an Argyle tone-on-tone applied pattern, a smooth leather strap and 47mm stainless steel case with rose gold accents.
The product is also available as a box set with a companion signature money clip.
EGO
Marc Ecko Watches introduced at Basel hot new graphic designs, signature details and inspiration from the fashion world. For 2010, EGO draws on the brand’s successful history, with a few fresh features.
Staying true to the roots of Marc Ecko Watches, EGO flaunts baguette-style crystals enveloping the 47mm stainless steel case.
The sunray silver dial is accented with the Marc Ecko signature pattern and its stone embellishments are carried through to the stainless steel band.
GLOBAL INK
Marc Ecko Watches explores global tattoo artwork in 2010, with a collection of Japanese-inspired timepieces launching at the BaselWorld show.
“The sai, a traditional Japanese weapon, also means rhinoceros [the rhino is Marc Ecko’s brand emblem – Ed],” explained Marc Ecko Watches Associate Brand Manager Jen Boulet. “It quickly became the design muse for the hero product in this collection.”
As the newest addition to Marc Ecko Watches’ fashion-forward category, this watch features antique brushing on a 48mm stainless steel case with black ionic plating and knurling highlights.
With a dial covered in tattoo “ink”, ornate hands and jet-black Swarovski crystals complete this timepiece.
This collection was created in the tradition of Marc Ecko’s classic tailoring with bold graphics and subtle embellishments. Other styles are offered in an antiqued gold or all matte black finish with a tone-on-tone skull graphic applied to the dial.
RHINO IN FOCUS
The iconic rhino is a key element of several styles for 2010, with the archetype being the Flint watch, named for its black-on-black design.
This style features a 43mm stainless steel case with matte-black ionic plating, a blacked-out dial with Ecko’s signature “running rhino” graphic and a super-soft silicon strap. Flint is also available with stone accents and a stainless steel bracelet.
Other Marc Ecko timepieces also highlight the rhino, ranging from graffiti-inspired artwork as a bold statement, to the subtle design detailing on the dial paired with oversized numerals and knurling on the bezel.
