Tissot showcases new timepieces – 14/06/04

A collection of Tissot watches showcased at Basel
SWITZERLAND. Watchmaker Tissot launched 12 creations at this year’s Basel watch fair, including a watch with straps made of plaited golden threads, a limited edition silver pocket watch and a new line of pocket and pendant watches.

Besides this limited edition watch, Tissot also launched a line of pocket watches with integrated alarms. These modern looking timepieces come in brushed or polished steel or black cases. Wearers can also choose to wear these watches around their necks by inserting a cord through the top of the watch.

The collection consists of:

Tissot Rapunzel: The Tissot Rapunzel features an 18 carat gold case and a bracelet with silver dial and gold indices. The bracelet of plaited gold threads is supple and sits well on the wearer’s wrist.

St Petersburg: Inspired by the 1904 Tsar’s watch, the St Petersburg limited edition watch was designed to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the city, and is therefore available only in 300 pieces. It features an embossed gold monogram of Peter the Great on the front of the case, and has a guilloche patterned dial and Roman numbers with skeletal hands.

BelllflHour Diamonds: A paved case of 132 brilliant cut Top Weeselton diamonds set off by the midnight black case, polished steel indices and the black leather strap.

Tissot Gemstone Collection: The best-selling T-Collection watches come in several designs: a bracelet of steel links, mother-of-pearl dial and polished steel with white diamonds, sapphires and semi-precious stones.

T-Facet and Minisquare: Two new models in glittering paved steel in geometric shapes.

T-Pocket and T-Pendant: Pocket watches in polished or brushed steel and in black or yellow PVD. The female version can be worn as a pendant.

T-Touch White: It comes with rubber or metal strap in various colours. It also features an altimeter, a chronograph, a compass, an alarm, a thermometer, a barometer as well as a mechanism for registering and displaying date and time.

Tissot PRS516: The 70s retro chronograph dial is a tribute to the traditional four-wheel motor sport, featuring a bracelet with holes.

Tissot Porto Chronograph: The Art Deco watch features elongated Arabic numbers, and is named after Porto in Portugal.

Tissot T-Race: Inspired by mountain biking and motorcycling, the line features speedometer-like counters.

Tissot Bascule: Created with 70s design in mind, the watch features a rocking bascule mechanism and is available in leather strap and polished steel with folding buckle.
