Making more of musk: the new Private Blend White Musk collection from Tom Ford Beauty |
US. Tom Ford Beauty has expanded its fragrance portfolio with the new Private Blend White Musk Collection, available now in selected travel retail doors.
The line comprises four distinctive fragrances inspired by one of the most important elements in the perfumer’s palette: musk. The White Suede scent is said to explore the masculine-feminine tension of musk combined with soft leather; Jasmine Musk wraps rich floral notes around a musky heart; Musk Pure is “an exercise in sublime simplicity”; while Urban Musk incorporates opulent, oriental tones.
“The intention was to build on the true beauty of musk, which is not at all heavy or dirty, but has a deep, compelling softness,” explained Ford. “Inhaling pure musk is a bit like inhaling nude skin. What I discovered is that there’s such a spectrum of shades and tones within the musk family that a single fragrance couldn’t capture its character.”
The fragrance quartet is presented in a new version of the Tom Ford Private Blend bottle, designed to convey the scents’ lighter, whiter spirit. The signature, dark glass “chess piece” flacon has been reworked in clear glass, is topped with an ivory cap, and bears an ivory label stamped in gold.
Each bottle is packaged in an ivory box with textured cross hatching on the surface. The Tom Ford Private Blend White Musk Collection is available as a 50ml only.
In other news, Tom Ford Beauty has introduced a new masculine fragrance that is said to capture the essence of the designer’s menswear philosophy.
Tom Ford Grey Vetiver has been crafted around the most authentic vetiver note available and moves it from the background-the ingredient’s traditional placement in many fragrances-to a signature placement from top note through long-lasting dry down.
The pale juice is encased in a frosted 50ml version of the Tom Ford for Men fluted bottle. The packaging sports a cool, white/silver/grey colour scheme.
