Top names vie for Changi confectionery contracts; Swizzle set to retain delicatessen business

SINGAPORE. Some of the industry’s biggest names have lined up for the important chocolate/candy/delicatessen concessions at Singapore Changi Airport terminal two, currently out to tender by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).

The CAAS has tendered two contracts, each offering two stores. The four outlets are in departure/transit lounge south, departure/transit lounge north (Concession one) and departure/transit lounge central, and departure/transit lounge north wing (Concession two) respectively.

The tender closed on 11 March. The bidders are Dufry, Focus Network Agencies, King Power Duty Free (Hong Kong), Swizzle and Nuance-Watson. DFS Singapore did not bid.

Dufry bid on both concessions as did Swizzle; Nuance-Watson bid only on concession one and King Power only on concession two. Focus Network Agencies bid on both.

Three of the stores are currently operated by locally-owned Swizzle. The fourth store, a 225sq m (2,421sq ft) store near the e-hub area, is new.

The tenders are for three-year periods with a two-year renewal option.

In related news, Swizzle is the only bidder in the tender for the delicatessen concession at Singapore Changi Airport departure/transit lounge central, terminal two.

The contract runs for three years and is expected to be awarded shortly.

Note: As reported, Focus Network Agencies (Singapore) last week won the chocolate/candy/delicatessen concession at Changi T2 departure/check-in hall central. The other bidders were the incumbent Swizzle and local firm Selvam Trading.
