Tourist slowdown hits Airports of Thailand forecast – 29/06/05

THAILAND. AIrports of Thailand has cut its 2004/2005 revenue growth forecast to +4-5% from +8-10% due to the slowdown in the tourism industry following the December 26 Tsunami and soaring oil prices, acting company president Bancha Pattanaporn told Reuters.

Majority state-owned Airports of Thailand operates Bangkok Don Muang and four other international airports in Thailand. Its financial year runs from October to September.

It will also operate the new Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, designed to handle 54 million passengers a year.

Airports of Thailand earns 40% of its revenues from airport fees, 20% from landing fees and the rest from other sources, including concessions.
