Travel Blue teams up with Fraport for Global Shopping Forum

Electronics and travel accessories specialist Travel Blue will be partnering with Fraport for the second Global Shopping Forum which takes place at Frankfurt Airport on 6 November.

Bringing together top decision-makers, industry experts, thought leaders and company executives to exchange market insights and share best practices, the forum aims to improve business in the eco-system of the larger travel industry.

This year’s theme is Target to Market: disruptive online and offline solutions to effectively communicate with and market to Chinese travelling shoppers. Highlights will include insights of enterprising Chinese cross-border e-Commerce & e-Payment providers, the knowledge of how world-leading brands sell to travellers and the power of Chinese social media platforms (Weibo and WeChat) for enhancing business.

The Global Shopping Forum 2015 will also introduce the ‘Start-up Award’, where three outstanding start-ups from the larger travel industry will present their technologies, ideas and values for the industry ecosystem.

The first Global Shopping Forum, which took place in Berlin on 14 November 2014, included participation from key industry leaders such as Gebr Heinemann, Travel Blue, Value Retail, Alibaba Group, Turkish Airlines, Fraport, Montblanc and Premier Tax Free.

Travel Blue Managing Director of the German subsidiary (GmbH) and Founder and Chairman of the Global Shopping Forum Eli Fel commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Fraport to bring the next Global Shopping Forum to the travel industry. The continued growth of tourism – especially the number of Chinese travelling shoppers and the critical use of digital communication in reaching this high spending group, means the theme of the forum is extremely relevant to the current time.”
