Travel Blue to debut sustainable water bottles at TFWA World Exhibition

The 500ml bottles can keep liquids hot for up to six hours and cold for up to 12, helping travellers forego the use of single-use plastic bottles at airports
The water bottles are supplied with a dedicated PoS solution that highlights their sustainable credentials

Travel Blue Group (Yellow Village Stand F33) is debuting a sustainable water bottle range at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition (1-5) in Cannes. The collection of high-performance, reusable stainless-steel bottles falls in line with the company’s sustainable ‘Our Blue Way’ initiative.

The 500ml bottles are made from high-quality stainless steel with double-walled vacuum technology. The bottles can keep drinks hot for up to six hours and cold for up to 12 hours.

The bottles feature screw-top lids with silicone seals and come in four different colourways. They are supplied with a dedicated PoS solution.

The range reflects the wider channel’s move towards sustainability as airports and retailers continue to reduce their environmental footprint, with many airports offering water refilling stations.

Recently, Los Angeles World Airports introduced an airport-wide retail ban on selling single-use plastic (SUP) bottles, a move reflected by Schiphol Airport Retail, which banned the sale of SUP water bottles in its flagship store.

“Every year, around 500 billion SUP water bottles are used. Of these, approximately 117 billion are used by travellers,” commented Travel Blue Group Managing Director Daniel Levin. “These numbers are staggering and show the scale of the problem and the huge importance of encouraging everyone to move to reusable bottles.

“Travel Blue Group is at the forefront of sustainable travel technology and our core values are innovation, sustainability and social responsibility. Our Blue Way commitment to reducing plastic waste is a mission to assist customers in achieving their sustainability goals. We believe that SUP bottles will be banned from more and more airports around the world in the next two years and we will assist our customers wherever we can, providing the tools they need.”

Travel Blue’s Our Blue Way commitment sees the company convert its portfolio towards recycled or recyclable products and introduce new products that are in line with its sustainability mission.

Levin added: “Supported by our amazing global team, we provide a complete solution with dedicated point of sale and in-store display stands. We look forward to showcasing our innovative products at TFWA Cannes this year, showing a global retail audience that embracing a sustainable future is a huge commercial opportunity.” ✈
