Travel Food Services launches K Hospitality, a new corporate brand

INDIA. Travel Food Services (TFS), one of India’s largest travel food & drinks players, has launched a new corporate brand and identity, K Hospitality.

The change was made, said the company, to recognise the big changes in the market and in the organisation since its founding in 1972. In that time, it has grown from “a single Copper Chimney restaurant to an organisation that encompasses restaurants, bars, cafés, banquets, corporate food services, outdoor catering, airport catering, lounge management and airline catering”.

Business Development Director Darpan Mehta told The Moodie Report that TFS would remain the name of the travel retail division.

He said: “This is the launch of a group-wide corporate brand name which encompasses our entire hospitality and food services businesses, of which TFS will be the travel retail vertical.

“[The aim is] to consolidate all our hospitality and food services businesses under a single umbrella corporate brand. Given the expanse of our travel retail and landside businesses, we have launched the corporate brand name, K Hospitality Corp, to showcase our travel retail and landside expertise in food & beverage, across regions, cuisines and business verticals.”

He said each “business vertical” would develop its own strategy, with synergies where possible across divisions.

TFS has been a pioneering force in India’s travel dining sector, in which it operates restaurants, cafés, food courts and lounges. It manages partner and proprietary brands including KFC, Domino’s Pizza, Cafeccino, Häagen-Dazs, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Smoke House Bar and Cafe, Signature Bar and Ultra Bar across the country’s airports. It also has partnerships with Gate Gourmet for inflight catering and with Lagardère Travel Retail for duty free and news & books (through the Relay brand).

TFS has also been named as a Silver Sponsor of The Trinity Forum 2015, to be held in Hong Kong on 16-18 September.
