UK. The Travel Retail Consortium has increased its membership with three new companies from the fashion, jewellery and training sectors of the industry: JA Associates (representing Morgan & Oates and JCI Jewellery), Polaroid Eyewear and Travel Retail Training (TRT).
JA Associates is a consulting company run by Jeannie Archer, who has more than 30 years of experience in the travel retail industry. JA Associates currently works with Morgan & Oates, a supplier of cashmere, merino and silk scarves and wraps; and Aeon fashion jewellery from JCI Jewellery – both exclusive to travel retail.
TRT is a training company headed by Christine Martin which provides training, performance and motivation solutions for frontline sales staff within the travel retail industry. It also runs the annual Inflight Sales Person of the Year (ISPY) event.
Polaroid Eyewear, represented by Rebecca Harwood Lincoln, retails high quality, polarised sunglasses and eyewear for adults and children in global travel retail. Harwood Lincoln has also been appointed to the role of Communications Officer within the Travel Retail Consortium.

The Travel Retail Consortium is a suppliers’ club whose objective is to further develop business within the travel retail industry and to promote its members’ products and services. With a membership now totalling 16 companies, it is looking for new members from within the watches, bags, whisky, gin and pen categories to further increase its base.
The TRC meets bi-monthly for trade discussion and event planning. The next meeting will be held in August when, as part of the proceedings, it will present a cheque to The Moodie Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie for cleft charity The Smile Train.
