Travel Retail Experts to present Lamy 2000 Stainless Steel in Cannes

The Lamy 2000 now comes in stainless steel with a matt brushed finish

Travel Retail Experts will unveil a polished stainless steel version of Lamy’s classic 2000 series, alongside other creations in the Lamy collection, at the TFWA World Exhibition next week (Stand number: Red Village M27).

As reported, Travel Retail Experts has been appointed by the German writing instruments company as its travel retail agent worldwide (except Scandinavia).

The original Lamy 2000 fountain pen, designed by Gerd A. Müller in 1966, has been a design classic for over 40 years and is today on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, according to Travel Retail Experts.

The Lamy 2000 was designed as a high-precision handwriting tool crafted using a combination of polycarbonate and stainless steel in a procedure which was said to be unique to Lamy.

For the first time, Lamy now presents the Lamy 2000 series in a stainless steel version with a matt brushed finish which is polished by hand.

The Lamy 2000 Stainless Steel is offered in three styles: a high-end fountain pen with platinum coated 14 ct gold nib and piston mechanism; a ballpoint pen with push mechanism; and a rollerball pen.

C. Josef Lamy GmbH Export Sales Manager Karl Gustav Siegel commented: “The Lamy 2000 Stainless Steel series is the meeting of high-end craftsmanship and complex technical processes – a new masterpiece.”

Travel Retail Experts Director Lutz Natonek said: “We are delighted to offer the innovative Lamy 2000 Stainless Steel in travel retail markets as part of an assortment of beautiful writing instruments which the traveller would be proud to own. Even in these days of electronic gadgetry consumers continue to appreciate the beauty of fine writing instruments of this supreme quality which they love to own as personal accessories or hand them as premium gifts to their family, friends and business partners.”

A new swivel tower cabinet (pictured right) which can accommodate 152 writing instruments has been designed, allowing the customer contact with the high-quality writing utensils without them being stolen.
