SINGAPORE. Travelex has secured a five-year contract at Singapore Changi Airport, enabling the global travel money services business to double its bureaux, terminal and staff footprint at the key Asian gateway.
Travelex has provided retail travel money services at Changi since June 2016, operating ten bureaux across terminals 2 and 3.
The new contract, which runs from this month to July 2029, will see Travelex establish a further ten bureaux across the airport, including in terminals 1 and 4.
The bureaux expansion will also result in more than doubling of staff levels, increasing from 65 team members to 135.
Travelex’s Changi bureaux are open round-the-clock across arrivals, departures and transit areas. These offer the airport’s nearly 60 million annual travellers a full suite of travel money services, including over-the-counter conversion of 50+ currencies.
Last year Changi was named the World’s Best Airport at the Skytrax World Airport Awards for the 12th time. The airport also won awards for World’s Best Airport Dining and World’s Best Airport Leisure Amenities.
The tender win comes as travel to both Singapore and across Asia continues to rebound. Latest IATA figures show that Asia Pacific airlines have seen a +27% year-on-year increase in demand compared to May 2023.

This performance maintains Asian carriers as the largest contributor to industry-wide growth in May, accounting for 42% of the total global year-on-year demand increase.
Travelex CEO Richard Wazacz said: “We are immensely proud of our relationship with Changi, an airport that is widely acknowledged as one of the best in the business.
“Extending our contract and doubling our footprint is therefore a real vote of confidence in the Travelex business as travel across Asia continues to rebound at pace.
“Convenience is at the heart of our proposition – establishing ten more bureaux, including across two further terminals, means we will be able to serve more travellers at Changi than ever before.” ✈
