Travelex unveils updated app for card users

Foreign Exchange company Travelex has launched a new Travelex Money Card (TMC) app aimed at offering a simple, efficient and secure experience for customers worldwide.

The newly developed app, which replaces the former platform, features a redesigned interface with simplified navigation and reduced complexity.

Users can view real-time wallet balances and recent transactions directly on the homepage, while currency transfers and TMC top-ups have been streamlined. The app promises enhanced stability and reliability compared to its predecessor.

The app is the preferred channel for TMC customers. 250,000 Travelex users are actively utilising a TMC and 80% of them rely on the app to manage their cards. Existing customers can access the new version by downloading the latest update.

The app enables customers to fully manage key aspects of their prepaid TMC. This includes topping up with up to 22 different currencies, checking transaction history and balances, freezing and unfreezing cards for instant protection, and accessing important details such as PIN codes,

The platform allows users to check live exchange rates and add their card to Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets. The software features secure login options with face and touch ID, and provides 24/7 dedicated phone support for assistance.

In addition to managing TMCs, customers can order foreign currency cash through the app for home delivery or collection at a Travelex stores in the UK or any of its own or partner stores in Australia.

This launch represents the latest milestone in the company’s ongoing digital transformation, marked by increased investment in digital infrastructure and product development.

In 2023 Travelex introduced the industry’s first automated, self-service digital kiosk at London Heathrow Airport, following the launch of the retail FX industry’s first ATM click-and-collect service. Additionally, Travelex has been investing in new digital, self-serve concept stores across its international portfolio and upgrading its backend and cloud digital infrastructure.
