Targeting travel retail: Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler, the hot new anti-ageing treatment from the Lauder group’s Good Skin Labs |
INTERNATIONAL. The Estée Lauder Companies has begun the process of rolling out a major new anti-ageing brand to the travel retail channel. Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler, from the group’s Good Skin Labs, has already secured a number of key ground shop and inflight listings – and more are expected as the product’s profile grows.
Tri-Aktiline is described as a potent deep-wrinkle formulation that instantly fills fine lines and wrinkles while helping to firm the skin over time.
The concentrate helps eliminate the appearance of wrinkles on contact, evening out and smoothing away the look of the deepest, most visible lines, the company maintains.
Introduced in 2004, Good Skin is a dermatologist-formulated, fragrance-free skin care brand, with simple, colour-coded packaging that allows for self-diagnosis by skin concern.
Tri-Aktiline, the first product from the Good Skin Labs, was launched in the US in 2006. In 2007 the product was introduced in Sephora Europe, and other selected international markets.
Initially Good Skin products were available exclusively in the US at Kohl’s department stores or on-line at kohl’s.com, via the Lauder group’s BeautyBank division.
However, the distribution has since been expanded and now includes the travel retail channel, where Tri-Aktiline is being tipped as a potential top-seller thanks to a series of high-profile domestic introductions.
In the UK, Tri-Aktiline made its debut earlier this year via an exclusive listing with Boots. It retails domestically at £24.99 for 30ml.
The core of Tri-Aktiline is a high-tech cocktail of three ingredients that are claimed to help firm and plump the skin’s appearance over time.
Gatuline Expression, extracted from the South American Acmella Oleraca plant, helps relax the look of facial tension and expression lines, such as crow’s feet. Kombuchka PH Extract, derived from sweet black tea, works to plump wrinkles to appear smoother on the surface. And Argireline, or acetyl hexapeptide-3, helps prompt skin into its re-build mode, boosting natural collagen production for long-term visible wrinkle reduction, according to the company.
In addition, matte silicones instantly fill in creases on the skin’s surface, temporarily veiling them, while sodium hyaluronate (a humectant), avocado oil, cholesterol, and shea butter hydrate the skin to further plump fine lines all over the face.
Lastly, a silky blend of optical diffusers (ultra-light spherical powders) help eliminate the appearance of wrinkles on contact.
Tri-Aktiline has already begun its worldwide travel retail roll-out, with listings secured with key airport, inflight and marine retailers across the Americas, Europe-Middle East-Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
