US. Tumi, the leading US manufacturer of travel, business and lifestyle accessories, has introduced a limited-edition collection as a DFS exclusive.
To be launched in-store in January, the Voyageur Collection in the new season’s grey colour will be available exclusively at the Tumi Shop in Hong Kong International Airport.
The collection includes five of the best-selling travel, business and day bag styles from the Voyageur collection. The grey exterior with tone-on-tone trims and orange detail in the front aims to appeal to both men and women.
Basel Backpack, Brussels Day Bag and Phuket Cross Body styles feature numerous organisational pockets and easy-to-carry silhouettes.
The signature Just-In-Case tote is a foldable, packable lightweight bag made from a durable lightweight nylon; the Voyageur wheel-away is a carry-on bag with spacious compartments and features an adjustable telescoping handle and smooth rolling wheels.
The wheel-away also offers Tumi’s Tracer protection, the complimentary programme that helps reunite Tumi customer with their lost or stolen items.

Alpha Bravo debuts in Spring 2010 with a set of soft, casual travel and business totes and day bags that are designed to infuse modernity into Tumi’s iconic ballistic material.
Detailed with leather trim and black webbing – and available in black with black matte trim, and green with antiqued pewter trim – the bags have a casual, relaxed look thanks to softer, less structured designs.
In the autumn the line is set to expand into a complete travel and business collection featuring wheeled travel styles.
The collection consists of eight styles, including totes, cross-body styles, duffels, messenger bags and a convertible backpack. Prices range from US$145 to US$325.
Ballistic Brights range
Also new for spring 2010 is the Ballistic Brights line, part of Tumi’s core Alpha collection. These ballistic nylon bags are now available in a spectrum of colours.
The featured style, a 22in lightweight wheeled carry-on, will be offered in ten colours.
The new ballistic Alpha lightweight carry-on cases feature an adjustable telescoping handle, smooth rolling wheels, organised interiors, ample pockets and Tumi Tracer identification tag. The soft construction is said to result in cases that are 25-30% lighter than comparable styles.
Lifestyle products include laptop sleeves, netbook covers, travel kits and card cases, available in many colours.
The new Tennis Bag style features a compartment for a racquet, rubberised mesh side pockets to hold balls, a water bottle pocket and removable shoulder strap. The spacious interior allows for storage of apparel, footwear and gear and pockets on both the exterior and interior provide extra spaces for the essentials such as phone, iPod and PDA.
Spring 2010 Collections: Travel
The Alpha core travel line is now available in a neutral shade of Sahara tan, in addition to brown and black. Contrasting caramel brown leather trim completes the polished look. The line is available in lightweight wheeled sizes and a soft satchel.

Spring 2010 marks the debut of the Bravo collection for men. The newest ballistic collection from Tumi, this line includes seven styles which is said to incorporate the functionality, performance and quality of the core Alpha range but with a modern attitude to appeal to a younger generation.
The bags feature slimmer silhouettes, softer, less structured styles, and more design-intensive bags, according to Tumi. The collection will include larger sizes of cross-body styles, totes and a convertible backpack tote.
Laredo is a new leather day bag collection with an emphasis on casual sophistication, said the firm. Briefcases, messenger bags and cross-body styles feature a distressed leather finish. The relaxed tone is offset by the elegant high polish silver hardware and classic styling. Available in traditional black leather, Laredo is targeted at fashion-conscious men.
Sundance is a line of casual day bags, offered in ballistic nylon. Tumi’s signature fabric is applied to the assortment of messenger bags, totes, cross body styles and backpack. In classic shades of navy, black and Sahara tan, the rigid nature of ballistic is said to get a softer look when applied to these streamlined silhouettes. The bags have a leather trim and brass and nickel rivets.
The upscale Townhouse collection introduces new styles and a seasonal fabric. In black ballistic nylon, models include Eccleston and Kinnerton business briefcases and the Halkin slouchy cross-body style.
Bags feature leather detailing and polished silver hardware. In contrast, smoky quartz-coated canvas is the fashion focus for spring, available as cross-body day bags and a Nottingham carry-on travel case.
Spring 2010 Collections: Women’s
The women’s handbag collection is inspired by the Tumi’s signature luggage tag.
The Park collection is constructed from natural linen with colourful leather accents in three colours. It incorporates a sleek leather placket with flap and is available in a small bucket, tote and weekender styles. As an extension of the collection, select hard cases from the exclusive Townhouse collection have been reinterpreted and incorporated into Park.
The Stanhope trunks and Groom train case are both crafted in natural linen and accented in carnelian leather trim to complement the collection. The newest addition is a sleek, slim oversized garment carrier. The interior reveals sections for shoes, hanger hook and zippered compartments.
Continuing with the theme of the luggage tag, the Buckle handbag collection bears a miniature version of this iconic detail. Available in clutch, bowler bag and business tote styles, each is constructed from washed leather in three shades.
Both the Buckle business tote and Park tote can accommodate a 15in laptop and files.
The elite Villa collection spans styles for business, handbags and travel. The defining feature for Spring is a tortoiseshell luggage tag which hangs from each bag. The Maser framed briefcase, Magazine tote and Dome business case are designed for both business and pleasure.
A feminine bucket and hobo style offered in textured leather complete the handbag assortment. Co-ordinating accessories, wallets, card cases and passport covers round out the lifestyle offering.
For travel, a framed wheeled satchel has the look of a doctor’s bag but with the convenience of wheels and retractable handle.
For a more casual statement in travel, business and lifestyle, the Voyageur collection, crafted from lightweight nylon with leather trim details, now features several eye-catching colours. Best-selling styles such as the Quintessential tote – which will now be offered in a shopper size – and Frankfurt tote remain key items.
A notable introduction is the ultra-lightweight wheeled travel case. Semi-structured, this piece borders between hard case and satchel.
Small leathergoods from the Capra collection are designed to match the palettes of the season, carnelian and topaz. Highlights include a new zippered style of continental wallet, zipped card case, and fold-over pouchette.
