UK. The UK Travel Retail Forum today launches its new website at www.uktrf.co.uk

Describing the development as an “important milestone” for the trade body, UKTRF Secretary General Barry Goddard said: “This is an important milestone for the UKTRF, which will make a significant contribution to the trade’s representational activity. Our overall aim was to create a site that is clear, simple to navigate and as user-friendly as possible.”

Talking about the site’s aims, Goddard continued: “The site fulfils two main objectives – firstly to provide a brief but nonetheless comprehensive summary of all the many issues the trade is facing, which we trust will be useful for colleagues in our industry, and for the trade press, government officials and the public at large. The second objective is to provide a first-class facility for our members, with all relevant information on the UKTRF, industry data, and a confidential update on current issues.”

Features of the site include: a comprehensive range of direct links to relevant documents, and to related websites, such as the ETRC, DFWC and HM Revenue and Customs; a list of FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) providing details of travellers’ allowances for both duty free and duty paid excise goods; a news section reporting on the issues the UKTRF is pursuing; and a confidential members-only section for UKTRF members.

Goddard concluded: “We hope that all who visit the site, both members and others, will find it useful and informative. It is a dynamic site, which will be updated regularly and developed further over time. I would invite all users to let us have their views on the site, either by using the message facility on the site itself, or by contacting us direct.”
