AUSTRIA. The newly designed airport shops of Dublin and Abu Dhabi are featured in the latest edition of SHOP aktuell magazine published by retail design experts Umdasch Shop-Concept.
Published at the beginning of September 2009, SHOP aktuell 106 also contains several articles dedicated to emotions in retailing.
One article focuses on Dr Christian Mikunda’s new consumer theory, which is based on the Seven Deadly Sins and how they can be transformed into feelings of elation or the desire to purchase.
Also in this issue, Oscar prizewinner Stefan Ruzowitzky discusses the importance of emotions in retail design.
A trend article on successful floor design in the retail sector is aimed at those involved in the practical side of shop planning.
SHOP aktuell 106 also examines the idea of space sharing between the industrial and retail sectors. The company argues that there is a lack of synchronisation between sales systems and product presentation on the one hand, and customer advice on the other. SHOP aktuell examines this controversial subject from a variety of points of view.
The magazine contains a wide range of examples of newly designed stores, including the airport shops at Dublin and Abu Dhabi, as well as O’Neill (Amsterdam), Kastner & Öhler (Oberwart), Humanic (Prague), Noppies (Amsterdam), Eurospar (Liezen), Gleis 4 (Innsbruck) and Boday-Bulloni Optik (Berne).
With its special focus on shop marketing and retail design, the magazine also provides a wide-ranging preview of the retail event of the year, the Alpbach International Retail Forum, “Stagecraft in Retailing II”. The conference will take place from 15 to 17 October 2009 in Tyrol, in the heart of the Austrian Alps.
The prestigious list of lecturers includes Dr David Bosshart, Oscar prizewinner Stefan Ruzowitzky and star designer Ron Pompei from the US.
