Luxury brand Ermenegildo Zegna — a Gold Partner of the Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo — is extending its #UseTheExisting programme to celebrate its 110th anniversary.
#UseTheExisting embraces the use of pre-existing or post-consumer fabrics and materials across Ermenegildo Zegna’s fashion range. It aims to promote circular economy practices and minimise the brand’s environmental footprint.
This #UseTheExisting materials will be used in the brand’s Modern Tailoring and Luxury Leisurewear lines, upcycled garment fashion incubator range Ermenegildo Zegna XXX and sustainable performance wear line Z Zegna.
Ermenegildo Zegna will be exhibiting its latest collections at the upcoming Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo at #Virtual Stand FAL-G2.
In addition, the company is donating proceeds from products made with #UseTheExisting fabrics to fund the maintenance of the ‘Oasi Zegna’ or Zegna Forest. The Oasi Zegna forest is a long-term carbon sink project that aims to combat the effects of climate change. It was launched in 1993, when Ermenegildo Zegna planted 500,000 conifers in the Biella Alps, where the original Ermenegildo Zegna wool mill is located.
“More than a simple project, #UseTheExisting is a state of mind,” commented Ermenegildo Zegna Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori. “The main goal is to rework the fashion system in order to reduce our ecological footprint.
“At Zegna, we are trying to reuse resources in order to not waste any materials in the production chain. It is a mission and a vision in which we are investing a lot. This is the principle behind the latest and future collections.”
