A multi-sensory ASMR experience was a standout element of the Valentino Beauty ‘Rendez-Vous 2024’ pop-up at Dubai International Airport

UAE. Valentino Beauty and Dubai Duty Free (DDF) are celebrating their recent partnership for the exclusive launch of the Born in Roma The Gold fragrance and Spike Valentino lipstick at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

The beauty innovations were showcased via a dynamic takeover which ran from 1-15 August. Valentino Beauty, part of L’Oréal Groupe, transformed 15 animation sites into striking ‘Rendez-Vous 2024’ experiences, combining retail and digital activations with a vibrant, gilded design inspired by Dubai’s rich heritage.

The full-scale takeover showcased Valentino’s elegant visual identity and multi-axis portfolio. The brand’s fragrance and makeup offer took centre stage, with the spotlight on the limited-edition Born in Roma The Gold fragrances and the new Spike Valentino lipstick, a bold matte lipstick encased in a golden studded aluminium case.

The main ‘Rendez-Vous 2024’ podium captured the essence of Rome’s classic colour palette with bold gold hues dominating the space. Walls adorned with satin gold sequins created a visually captivating experience for visitors.

‘Valentino: where beauty becomes iconic’ was the theme of the takeover. It showcased the brand’s timeless elegance and ‘edgitage’, a signature Valentino concept blending edge and heritage.

Notably, Valentino introduced a dedicated ASMR station at the pop-up, offering customers a multi-sensorial journey. Guests donned headphones to experience the Born in Roma fragrances and Spike Valentino lipstick through sound. From the click of a lipstick tube to the spritz of perfume, this auditory experience allowed visitors to connect with the textures and sensations of the products in a different way.

Travellers were able to sample the Spike Valentino Lipstick line with the help of Beauty Advisors who offered flash makeup services

At the heart of the pop-up was a makeup station where beauty advisors provided personalised consultations and delivered flash makeup looks. The station highlighted the new Spike Valentino lipstick range, offering customers the opportunity to try the highly pigmented shades firsthand.

The experience also featured a photo call station with a shimmering golden wall, emblazoned with Rendez-Vous The Gold. The area encouraged visitors to capture and share their moment in Valentino’s luxurious world.

Born in Roma The Gold: A Tribute to Eternal Rome

Valentino’s Born in Roma The Gold fragrances, available in both Donna and Uomo versions, was designed to capture the golden warmth of Rome. The Donna Eau de Parfum opens with Italian mandarin top notes and unfolds into a heart of gardenia, finished with a sensual solar coco accord.

The Uomo Eau de Toilette blends warm spices with Virginia cedar essence, anchored by an amber vanilla accord that evokes summer warmth. For the first time, both versions are presented in a luxurious monochromatic gold bottle, symbolising Valentino’s bold spirit.

Spike Valentino: Couture Meets Conscious Beauty

Inspired by the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Spike Bag, the Spike Valentino lipstick range debuts with 12 highly pigmented shades. Encased in a gold aluminium case adorned with Valentino’s signature studs, the lipstick features a magnetic closure and ultra-slim bullet design.
