Victorinox and Off-White partner to launch limited-edition Swiss Army Knife

The Stone Age-inspired knife features striking curved edges and a graphic black and white print

Swiss lifestyle house Victorinox has partnered with luxury fashion brand Off-White to launch a limited-edition Swiss Army Knife.

The Off-White c/o Victorinox Limited Edition blends Victorinox’s craftsmanship and functionality with Off-White’s bold creativity. The expression was inspired by the concept of a Stone Age Swiss Army Knife. Only 3,000 pieces are available worldwide, with each knife numbered and engraved.

The design represents ancient prehistoric stone tools used for cutting, drilling and hunting. The blades’ rounded edges give the limited-edition design an edgy look, while the silhouette of the single tools, when positioned in a specific order, resembles a fig leaf.

The leaf symbol is an allusion to the story of Adam and Eve and represents new beginnings. The prehistoric theme continues with the choice of Corian Solid Surface as the material of the knife.

Never before used on a Swiss Army Knife, the surfacing material is solid, non-porous and homogenous. It is composed of resin and minerals such as aluminium and Bauxite. The Corian scales feel like real stone to the touch and is accentuated by a matt surface that is scratch and wear resistant.

The evolution from stone tool to Swiss Army knife is presented graphically in the back of the knife

The scales are white and decorated with contrasting black prints. Victorinox’s Cross & Shield logo feature on the front of the knife alongside different brand symbols and the name and year of the limited edition. On the back, a series of images are etched which represent the evolution from stone to tool.

Victorinox Chief Marketing Officer Veronika Elsener commented, “We are excited about the outcome of the Off-White c/o Victorinox Limited Edition. It brings together Victorinox tradition and knowledge with the young and up-to-date brand Off-White. It represents today’s understanding of urban adventure, an attitude that we share for all of our products.”

The Off-White c/o Victorinox Limited Edition is the hero product of the Equipment collaboration collection

The limited-edition Swiss Army Knife is the hero product of ‘Equipment’ a special project between Off-White and Post Archive Faction (PAF). PAF is a South Korean menswear brand launched by Dongjoon Lim and Sookyo Jeong in 2018. Off-White invited Victorinox to collaborate on the special edition knife as part of this project.

The two brands worked together in strong alignment with the heritage of the late designer/Off White Creative Director Virgil Abloh to create the knife. It is now available in selected stores and online.
