Villa Restaurant Group unveils co-located pizzeria and bakery at Newark Liberty International Airport

USA. Villa Restaurant Group, the multi-brand restaurant operator and franchisor, has staged a grand opening for two new eateries – Tony + Benny’s Pizza Parlor and Carlo’s Bakery – at Newark Liberty International Airport. They are co-located in the Liberty Terrace Food Court in the Terminal B pre-security area.

Tony + Benny’s Pizza Parlor is a quick-service restaurant brand known for its authentic Brooklyn-style pizza. It offers a menu inspired by vintage recipes including classic, Sicilian, ‘grandma’ and margarita pizzas, pastas, calzones and fried street eats, all made from fresh ingredients. The venue will also serve a variety of hot breakfast options.

This is the second Tony + Benny’s Pizza Parlor in an airport location, the first having opened in Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in 2017.

Villa Restaurant Group told The Moodie Davitt Report that it used the large store frontage to add the Carlo’s Bakery brand into what was originally requested as a single use pizzeria/Italian location.

Villa Restaurant Group Senior Manager of Business Development Chris McNamee said: “We are thrilled to be bring the first ever airport location for Carlo’s Bakery to both ours and Buddy’s hometown airport of Newark Liberty International. We are also delighted to introduce Tony + Benny’s Pizza Parlor here – this is the first airport location to showcase the latest prototype design and newly-developed menu offerings which are all part of bringing a unique, local sense of place to the brand.”

The two new food & beverage brands add to an existing Villa Restaurant Group eatery in the Liberty Terrace Food Court – Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill. The line-up at the food court is completed by three additional quick service brands, with the six venues sharing a communal seating area.

These latest venues become part of a Villa Restaurant Group portfolio of nearly 350 locations worldwide. The restaurateur is known for offering management and international franchise opportunities in malls, airports, casinos and other high-traffic venues.
