Duty Free Philippines has launched a new television ad to celebrate Christmas homecoming and the pasalubong shopping tradition (the bringing of homecoming gifts to family and friends after being away). It’s called The OFW Christmas Homecoming (click on the YouTube icon below to view).
Christmas is a particularly poignant time in the Philippines as legions of its Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) return home for their holidays, having based themselves offshore in order to send money to their families. OFWs are rightly bestowed with national hero status for their contribution to the Filipino economy.
Duty Free Philippines is also offering all shoppers big discounts on select items of participating brands in a one-day promotion at Fiestamall on Boxing Day, 26 December.
