WIZZ takes global approach with product development – 08/10/08

UAE. Dubai-based toy and gadget specialist WIZZ has developed several new products, available initially at Dubai Duty Free and Sharjah Duty Free.

One of these is a battery-operated magnetic moneybox globe around which a plane actually flies – all to the sound of music. It retails at US$13.50.

Also new is a range of magnetic travel games. Popular games including Chess, Ludo, Solitaire and Snakes and Ladders each come in a compact metal box together with a comprehensive rule guide. The games retail at US$7 each.

For younger travellers, WIZZ has come up with a range of destination specific puzzles and jigsaws. Based on the well-received traditional wooden puzzles, these brightly coloured puzzles are designed specifically for the Middle East travel market. They incorporate iconic tourist sights such as the Burj Dubai (reportedly the tallest building in the world) and the Burj Al Arab and are priced at US$10 each.

“As always, the emphasis in our product development has been fun items that offer great value for money, are ideal for travel, and which reflect a flavor of the area from which they have been bought,” said WIZZ Managing Director Nigel Caddick. “We’re very pleased with the results and are confident of high sell out in each case.”
