INTERNATIONAL. Women in Travel Retail (WiTR) has today launched its new website, designed by travel retail marketing and design agency FILTR.
The website features a members only section and advertising and branding opportunities. WiTR said the decision to implement a membership fee reflects its desire to make it affordable for all. WiTR will use the fees to cover annual administrative costs and any surplus income will be donated to WiTR’s chosen charity each year.
To become a member, users need a PayPal account. Members will be encouraged to contribute to enriching the site’s content.
At TFWA World Exhibition, Desigual invited women in the WiTR network to feature in a calendar for 2018 which will be available to buy through the website. This initiative follows Desigual’s Travel Retail Women Talk series, which featured interviews with key women from the industry.
WiTR Chair Sarah Branquinho and Vice Chair Geraldine Munday said: “WiTR now has a platform for growth; we hope that women in duty free and travel retail across the globe will see it as a valuable resource and ‘meeting’ point, and a way of reaching out and encouraging women to reach their potential as future industry leaders.”
Since its inception in 2006, WiTR has raised close to £250,000 (US$334,000) for children’s charities nominated by women from the industry.
