Yo! Sushi adds colour to Heathrow T3 – 19/06/07

All dishes at Heathrow’s new 56-seat Yo! Sushi restaurant will be colour-coded – ranging from green (costing £1.50) to platinum (£5), in what the company calls a “unique pricing concept”

UK. A new Yo! Sushi outlet will open in the International Departure Lounge at London Heathrow’s Terminal Three on Friday, offering seating for 56 diners around a two-armed “˜kaiten’ conveyor belt as well as a Yo! To Go takeaway unit.

A daily menu of over 100 traditional Japanese and Western recipes will include hot meals such as chicken teriyaki, salmon yakitori, noodle ramens, miso black cod and health elixir miso soup (unlimited at £1.75), plus the more traditional sashimi (premium quality raw fish), maki rolls (seaweed covered rice) and nigiri (rice blocks with a topping) dishes.

A “unique pricing concept” sees all servings colour-coded, ranging from green (£1.50) to platinum (£5). Food can be taken straight from the conveyor belt or made bespoke to order, prepared and cooked in front of the customer in “˜on-stage’ kitchens.

Japanese in influence, the design features black walls with a cherry blossom effect, hardwood floors, bright green leather stools and pink vinyl wall panels. Plasma screens will show Yo! TV – a food/fashion film – and airline-style call buttons will offer help messages for diners needing assistance.

Said BAA Retail Category Development Manager for Food and Beverage Catherine Peachey: “Japanese cuisine is enjoyed worldwide, so we are thrilled that Yo! Sushi is opening its airport outlet in Heathrow’s Terminal Three.

“Offering a window to the world, Terminal Three is the perfect location for a restaurant that champions fusion cuisine. With every passing year customers are becoming more and more discerning with their food choices and we offer a broad range of restaurant and café facilities to meet this demand.”

All Yo! Sushi’s fresh ingredients and fish are delivered daily from the same supplier as Harrods, The Savoy and Fortnum & Mason. No dish stays on the conveyor belt for longer than two hours.

Yo! Sushi Heathrow is located next to T3’s exclusive retail shops, including Burberry, Harrods, Bally and Reiss.
