YSL offers Baby Doll version of Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) has further extended its Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils with a Baby Doll version, which will be introduced to the travel retail channel in June. The category is significant for the house: a YSL mascara is sold every 12 second across the globe, ie. five mascaras a minute.

This latest addition to the Volume Effect Faux Cils franchise (first launched in 2000) is said to deliver long-lasting volume and intense colour. By lifting, curling and spreading lashes, it creates a full “open-eye” effect, according to the brand.

The formula – protected by two patents – was inspired by a hi-tech molecule called graphene, a thin, flexible carbon crystal material. The YSL research labs have developed a formula that can mimic the structure and properties of graphene, by combing three polymers, soft waxes and an agent that allows for maximum distribution of black pigments. This makes it possible to lengthen and curl lashes from root to tip and ensure a 24-hour hold, YSL maintains.

Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Baby Doll comprises a multi-faceted elastomer brush, which alternates thick, widely spaced bristles to coat and magnify, with finer, more closely spaced bristles to define the shortest lashes.

The mascara is presented in a gold-coloured barrel inscribed with a pink Baby Doll logo. The mascara is available in four shades: black, brown, blue and violet.
