Yves Saint Laurent extends make-up portfolio with new foundation and mascara – 27/07/09

FRANCE. Yves Saint Laurent Parfums has unveiled a new liquid foundation, called Teint Resist. It will be available in travel retail from mid-September.

Teint Resist: Yves Saint Laurent’s first 14-hour, stay-true, smudge-free foundation

The oil-free make-up (complete with SPF10) is described as YSL’s first 14-hour, stay-true, smudge-free foundation. It is said to deliver a luminosity to skin that remains radiant for hours without any need for touch-ups.

The silicone-enriched emulsion leaves a veil of colour on application. According to YSL, protective pigments, teamed with a film-forming polymer, help to preserve the shade as time passes.

The multi-tasking Mascara Singulier

In addition, nylon micro-sponges blot up excess sebum. The result, the brand claims, is natural-looking, flawless coverage that lasts a full 14 hours.

Teint Resist is presented in a frosted glass pump dispenser bottle, topped with the signature YSL gold-coloured cap. The foundation is available in a total of 10 shades: the lightest two will be available in Near East travel retail only.

The recommended travel retail price point for Teint Resist will be around €33.60 for 30ml.

In other news, YSL has extended its mascara portfolio with the addition of Mascara Singulier. It too will be launched into travel retail in September.

The multi-tasking mascara is said to deliver extreme volume, extravagant curl and endless length. It also helps keep lashes supple and shiny, YSL maintains, thanks to the shield effect of a plant sugar-based polymer.

The formula is built around a Modelling Stretch Complex. Volumising micro spheres sheathe the lashes from base to tip, while acacia gum helps those spheres adhere to the lashes.

Nylon micro-spheres “stretch” out the tips of the lashes for maximum length; while the inclusion of a curling wax is said to deliver a customised, long-lasting curl.

The Mascara Singulier applicator is described as a new-generation brush that features “injection technology”. It is composed of moulded spikes formed into spirals – a multi-directional format that maximises the mascara distribution.

In addition, the brush has a fine conic tip to aid application on even the smallest lashes, and in the corners of the eyes.

Mascara Singulier will be available in four shades – deep brown, deep black, deep violet and deep green – and will be priced in travel retail at around €22.66.
