CANADA. Peace Arch Duty Free Shop is building new duty free facilities at the Peace Arch Border Crossing and plans to begin trading from the upscale store by Spring 2006.

The final plans and interior layouts are complete and the tenders awarded, according to Peter Raju of Peace Arch Duty Free Shop.

The 26,000sq ft outlet, located at the Peace Arch Border Crossing on Highway 99, British Columbia, will offer new and exciting lines in addition to its core products, Raju said.

Customers will be able to experience a high level of duty free shopping in one of the most prestigious land border duty free operations in North America, he added.

The grounds will have numerous water features and the interior of the store will also reflect the surroundings of the Peace Arch Park, as well as complement the new Canada Customs facility that is slated for construction in Fall 2005.
