Digital & Wireless Group makes the right connections at IAADFS show – 05/04/06

Among the highlights was the iPowerPro WorldPlug travel adaptor, which enables travellers to connect their devices worldwide. The product has a patented three-piece design which is described as easy-to-use and easy-to-store. WorldPlug is designed to work with notebook computers and other electronic devices that have dual voltage power supplies. The product retails at US$24.99.

Also on show was the iPowerPro 150 Watt Universal Dual Voltage Auto/Airplane Adapter, which is a portable, compact dual voltage (110-120 VAC & 220-240 VAC) DC/AC universal power inverter for notebook computers and other electronic devices.

The airplane adapter plugs into the plane’s in-seat power system and works on American, Delta, Continental, United, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and any plane equipped with the Empower system. A USB charging port allows use of ASB charging cables to charge cellphones, PDAs and other electronic devices. The automobile adapter plugs directly into your car’s cigarette lighter and uses the vehicle’s DC battery to operate your notebook or other electronic devices.

You can charge and power up to two devices simultaneously with one 110 VAc output socket and one 220 VAC output socket. Users can switch from airplane mode (75 Watt) to more powerful loads (150 Watt) with the flick of a switch. The price is US$129.99.

Digital & Wireless also offers Bose noise-cancelling headphones which can be used at home or on a plane. The headphones fold down flat into a carry case. Batteries are included.

Buyers also got the opportunity to see the Pen Power World Card Office business card scanner in action. Offering 13 languages, the user can export all contacts from a business card directly into systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express or PowerPoint. A new colour version is being launched to complement the black and white product. Pen Power retails at about US$175.

The company also showed iPod accessories including the Auto/Airplane Adapter for iPod which can plug into the car or onboard any plane that is equipped with the Empower system. The price is US$19.99.

Among the many travel games from the Excalibur Electronics brand is a new Sudoku game. Other games in the range include poker and New York Times digital crossword puzzles.

Also on display were Bluetooth headsets, as well as BodyGlove iPod cases for the US market.
