INDIA. Flemingo Duty Free Shops, India’s leading duty free retailer, has retained its duty free concessions at Jaipur, Trichy & Lucknow airports after an open tender conducted by Airports Authority of India.
The contracts run for a further five years.
Flemingo noted: “Though these are small airports, they are nonetheless important for Flemingo because they allow the company to maintain its pan-India presence.”
The company said its success would offer stability, continuity and growth for suppliers and brand owners.
Flemingo began business in 1997 and since then has focused on developing strong operations across Asia and Africa.

Its latest tender success puts the company in a strong position following other contractual gains and retentions that also run to 2015.
The company noted: “In spite of the duty free atmosphere in India continuing to be very challenging, Flemingo continues to strengthen its presence in the country.
“Flemingo now stands as a major player in the Indian duty free market. We have proved our capacity to operate and develop an international standard duty free ambiance across Indian airports, delivering to consumers a world-class travel retail experience at great value.”
The company said that the recent contract successes are reward for having continuously innovated and invested in technology, human resources and building a quality retail offering and experience.
